Clarify is the result of a senior community action project which recognized the high attrition rates (fail and withdraw) in dual enrollment classes at ACPS and sought to address them by increasing the amount of available information surrounding dual enrollment classes or "clarifying" the murky waters.

Clarify is not formally affiliated with Albemarle County Public Schools and received no compensation (outside of a grade for the initial CAP project) for any of the guides, publications, or information Clarify is responsible for.

Uniform Policy Recommendations

Throughout the process to collect information to develop the guides that clarified published, Clarify's authors saw that there was consistent confusion around dual enrollment course policy between students, parents, teachers, and administrators. In April of 2024, Clarify recommended a set of uniform policies for all ACPS secondary schools that would reduce the amount of confusion and non-adherence to PVCC's and ACPS's course policies.

The uniform policy recommendations are viewable by clicking "Policy Recs" in the navigation bar.

Professional Development

Another goal of the original senior community action project was to connect and provide information for teachers in the form of a professional development course held annually which would discuss best practices for dual enrollment courses. As of April 2025, Clarify has developed and recommended a professional development course that emphasizes supportive action for students based on the available data concerning dual enrollment courses.

The professional development course is available for viewing by clicking  "PD Login" in the navigation bar.
